WOW! When I read the first few lines of this book, I immediately knew it would be a favorite of mine. They are so gripping and intriguing! And I’m happy to say that the rest of the book is every bit as entrancing! The tension between Emana and Daenn is perfection. On one hand, I felt like I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next, and on the other hand, I wanted to slow down and savor it because it was SO GOOD. The writing is beautiful and compelling, and I highlighted so many lines that I knew I would want to reread later. This is a friends to enemies to more romance, and the progression of their relationship is written so well! I love that they grew up together, and I really enjoyed the flashback scenes. I felt the story was woven together in exactly the best way, and I wished the story would never end while I was reading because I wanted to stay in this story world longer. Filled with adventure, romance, gryphons, tension galore, magic, and banter, this book is one of my absolute favorites! Daenn, King of the Gryphon Riders, is a #DeathDaddy who kinda accidentally puts anyone he gets close to into an everlasting slumber until they eventually get unalived. He realizes that it seems to have only happened after his best friend (who he would definitely like to be more than friends with) got married off to a lowlander in one of those good old-fashioned alliance deals. He decides that it must be something to do with her magic balancing out his, so he decides she needs to be near him. Unfortunately, men go and do man things* and swords come out and people get unalived on pointy things and all sorts of calamity ensues and, being a man, Daenn doesn't just TELL HER WHAT IS HAPPENING. So yeah, they have to work things out the hard way as he drags her off to marry him and she is like "wtf dude, you used to be a nice guy" and then they discover these magic-sucking bracers that might help and there are giant bugs and evil elves and whooooooo boy, its's a TRIP! But, because the author is a sweet precious baby angel, you can be sure that there is some serious swoon, and a HEA that will melt your soul. Also, BABY GRYPHONS!!! *no offense intended to men who actually know how to treat women with respect and hold a rational conversation with each other without weapons Side note: I sort of got Aragorn vibes from Daenn, and then I was both highly amused and very disappointed when the character named Viggo came into the picture...until I decided he was named after Viggo from Ghostbusters, not Viggo/Aragorn.

This book is seriously SO INCREDIBLE! I have read it a few times already, and I love it more every time I read it. I adore the characters, the story is absolutely beautiful, and the ending is pure perfection! This epilogue is probably the best one I've ever read, and it makes me so so so happy! The first line is seriously the best one ever. It captivated me from literally the very beginning. I love how this one still has the warm book hug feeling while dealing with deeper, and at times less happy, emotions. Constance is seriously brilliant! Her writing is beautiful and flows so well that I forget I'm even reading. I'm just living in this made up world with these characters, and it's so wonderful! I don't know how she does it, but I cannot recommend this one enough! It's a whirlwind of emotions and seriously amazing through and through!
